Authorities described the deceased man as Hispanic, in his mid-30s. According to the Journal News article, the man was walking along the tracks around 3:15 to 3:30 a.m. about a half of a mile north of Hudson Avenue when he was hit by a train coming from Grand Central Terminal to Poughkeepsie.
Sgt. Alex Kitzen of the MTA Police told Patch Monday that the area where the man was struck by the train was a fenced-in area. He could not say how the man got into the fenced-in area but that he was tresspassing.
Sgt. Kitzen also stated the man has not yet been identified and was not carrying any identification. Police are checking with a nearby homeless shelter to see if they have any information. Detectives are also cross-checking fingerprints taken from the victim and investigating missing persons reports to try to identify him.

The body of the victim has been turned over to the Westchester Country Medical Examiner's Office to determine if there was a drug or alcohol impairment, Sgt. Kitzen told Patch.
