Mejor Vida in Peekskill
HRHCare offers a free Spanish-language Mejor Vida health course in Peekskill.
HRHCare is pleased to announce the launch of a six-week Mejor Vida Program, a Healthy Choices New York self-management course given in Spanish, offered in Peekskill starting March 5th. This community-based workshop is free of charge and will tackle topics such as healthy eating; exercise; managing depression; appropriate use of medication; effective communication with family and health professionals; relaxation techniques; how to navigate the health care system; and new health treatment evaluation. Each participant in the workshop will receive a copy of the companion book Tomando Control de su Salud, an audio relaxation CD and audio exercise CD. All materials and instruction will be entirely in Spanish. The classes are highly participative and offer the tools for maintaining an active and healthy lifestyle through mutual support.
This free Mejor Vida Program will take place each Thursday for six consecutive weeks beginning March 5th. All classes will be held from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM in the Founders Room of the HRHCare Health Center at Peekskill; 1037 Main Street, Peekskill, NY 10566.
