Miles For Medals Benefit For Special Olympics In Peekskill Sunday

PEEKSKILL, NY — Sunday is the annual Miles for Medals walk benefiting the athletes of Special Olympics New York. More than 100 walkers will be walking alongside athletes, and the organizers are looking for more.

Last year more than 100 participants walked in honor of Special Olympics Athletes. This year, bring the family for a leisurely stroll. Walk as much or as little as you'd like. All participants, in teams or singles, are invited to walk. Raise $50 and get an official Miles for Medals T-shirt. There will be music and fun activities during the event. Lunch and refreshments will be provided to walkers free of charge.

WHEN: Sunday, October 29. Registration begins at 11:00am/ Walk is at NOON/ Lunch-Festivities 1PM

WHERE: Torpy Field in Depew Park, Peekskill, NY

WHAT: In addition to the walk, there will be lots of fun activities.

• A craft table - paint little pumpkin baskets, little cauldrons, witches hats and masks - have coloring pens and stickers
• Games to play (Ring Toss, Bounce the beach ball, and so much more)
• Music
• Halloween decorations displayed throughout Torpy Field
• Face painting
• Costume contest for funniest, cutest and originality (Medals awarded)
• Lunch will be served to all. There will also be a food truck for other things you may want. Prices for the food truck will be reasonable
• 50/50 raffles and other raffles
• Vendors
