Moving Forward in Faith: From Pittsburgh to Peekskill

MOBC Welcomes New Pastoral Leadership, the Reverend Dr. Robert E. Young

(Peekskill, NY) For the past year the congregation at Mount Olivet Baptist Church (MOBC) in Peekskill has prayed together, worshipped together and stayed together in the absence of a Pastor. Now with God’s blessing the congregation is preparing themselves for yet another new chapter in the life of MOBC.

It is with great delight and anticipation that we proudly announce the installation of the Reverend Dr. Robert E. Young as the 15th Pastor of the historic Mount Olivet Baptist Church (MOBC) in Peekskill, NY. The theme for the Pastoral Installation is “From Pittsburgh to Peekskill: Moving Forward by Faith.” Reverend Young has chosen Hebrews 11:8-10 as the installation scripture: “By faith he made his home in the promised land like a stranger….For he was looking forward to the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God.”

On behalf of the officers and members of MOBC, you are invited to join in the Installation Tribute and celebrations which will take place between July 1st and July 18th. The itinerary for this remaining week is as follows:

· Pre-Installation Community Worship Service on Wednesday, July 15th, 7 PM

· Installation Service for Rev. Dr. Robert E. Young on Saturday, July 18th, 12 Noon

We believe that God truly is the architect and builder of what is going on in and around Peekskill and at Mount Olivet. We are confident that God has great things in store for the Young Family and MOBC. Powerful, Prophetic and Practical are words that best describe the ministry of Pastor Young. With the power and presence of God, his ministry has crossed generational and denominational boundaries. We are greatly looking forward to the blessing that God has in store for the future of MOBC, the City of Peekskill, the surrounding communities and celebrating this joyful, new beginning with you all in July.
