New President of NewYork-Presbyterian/Hudson Valley Hospital Named
Long-time President John Federspiel is retiring July 1.

CORTLANDT MANOR, NY-Stacey Petrower, M.P.A. has been named president of NewYork-Presbyterian/Hudson Valley Hospital.
A senior leader in healthcare for more than 20 years, she currently serves as chief operating officer there. She succeeds John C. Federspiel, who is retiring in July after 29 years as president.
Petrower joined the hospital in January.

Previously, she was vice president of operations at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, overseeing and managing the operations and operating budget of the emergency department, diagnostic and interventional cardiology, radiology services, radiation therapy, rehabilitation medicine and clinical lab services.
“With more than 20 years of experience as a senior healthcare leader, Stacey Petrower brings a wide range of strengths to the position,” Dr. Steven J. Corwin, president and CEO of NewYork-Presbyterian, said in a written statement. “We are fortunate to have an individual with her talents to succeed John Federspiel, whose leadership and vision over the last three decades have transformed NewYork-Presbyterian/Hudson Valley Hospital into a respected, highly-rated community hospital and one of the leading healthcare institutions in the region.”

He noted, “Under John’s leadership, the Hospital completed a $100 million renovation and expansion and added a new state-of-the-art comprehensive cancer center. John will leave us with a commitment to excellence as well as a strong foundation upon which to move forward.”
In her new role, Petrower will be responsible for the overall leadership and operations at the Cortlandt Manor site, as well as satellite medical center locations in Croton-on-Hudson and Cold Spring and the physical therapy location in Croton.
“I am delighted to continue the great work that has been done at NewYork-Presbyterian/Hudson Valley Hospital and I could not be more excited to lead such a dedicated, enthusiastic and competent staff,” she said. “Together, we will build upon the stellar accomplishments of the top-notch organization which John Federspiel built.”
Petrower joined NewYork-Presbyterian in 2003. Her leadership roles began in corporate services and then operations at both NewYork-Presbyterian/Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital and NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center. She has extensive experience in collaborating with physicians, nurses and staff to enhance nationally recognized clinical service lines and making improvements in patient experience and employee engagement.
A resident of Peekskill, she holds a bachelor’s degree in law and society from Binghamton University and a master’s degree in health care administration from Pace University.
