Nominate a Cortlandt or Peekskill Company to the Westchester Business Hall of Fame
Five businesses will be inducted on April 21.

The Business Council of Westchester, the county’s premier business advocacy and membership organization, is seeking nominations for The Westchester County Business Hall of Fame.
Established in 2002, the Business Hall of Fame awards program recognizes the lifetime achievements of Westchester County businesses in five categories: small business, entrepreneurs, corporate citizens, family-owned companies and women in business. Members of the business community are encouraged to nominate a client, colleague, vendor, friend or their own business; nominees do not have to be Business Council members.

The deadline to submit nominations is January 23, 2015; submissions can be completed online.
The Westchester County Business Hall of Fame Awards Dinner will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at the Glen Island Harbour Club in New Rochelle.

“This is a great opportunity to recognize some of Westchester’s leading businesses,” said Marsha Gordon, President and CEO of The Business Council of Westchester. “Past nominees and winners represent a wide array of companies and an impressive array of businesses.”
The categories are:
The Corporate Citizenship Award is presented to a company that has made a significant contribution and commitment to the Westchester community, including fostering economic opportunity; cultivating collaborations and partnerships; facilitating community involvement in its own organization; and working to build a more sustainable (green) business.
The Entrepreneurial Success Award is presented to an individual or company that began as a small business and has since developed and grown into a larger one. Judges consider growth in the number of employees and increase in annual sales; innovativeness of product or service provided; contributions and commitment to the community; and evidence of building a more sustainable (green) business.
The Small Business Success Award is presented to an individual or small business that displays strong “staying power,” including a substantiated history as an established business, with trend of growth, e.g. number of employees, increased annual sales, etc; creativity and ability to respond to a dynamic economic environment; contributions and commitment to the community, and evidence of building a more sustainable (green) business.
The Women in Business Success Award is presented to a woman who has achieved a high level of success in business. She must demonstrate leadership as a business owner or an executive in a corporation; increased business results through effective management; contributions and commitment to the community; evidence of building a more sustainable (green) business.
The Family Business Success Award is presented to a business that demonstrates positive results by combining a winning business strategy with a strong family work ethic. This includes positive multigenerational family business involvement; effective business strategy; contributions and commitment to the community; and working to build a more sustainable (green) business.
