Nor'Easter Update: Closings, Cancellations in Cortlandt, Peekskill
The Nor'Easter is already having an impact.

CORTLANDT, NY — The big storm that's moving into the Hudson Valley will turn into a nor'easter on Monday afternoon, and it's already having a big impact on the region.
Heavy rain is in the forecast, with flooding possible, specially along the coast. What you see falling from the sky will certainly depend on how far north you live and at what elevation you live.
The Cortlandt Recreation Department says: All youth basketball practices, basketball freeplay and yoga are cancelled. Youth center is still open.

A number of schools have already cancelled after-school activities or even dismissed students early.

- Bedford Central: all afterschool and evening activities are cancelled
- Blind Brook: afterschool activities cancelled
- Chappaqua: all after-school and evening activities are cancelled for today, Monday, January 23rd.This includes tonight’s Community Healing and Learning Session with Dr. Daniel Gensler, as well as any Chappaqua Continuing Education classes.
- Eastchester: no afterschool activities
- Katonah-Lewisboro: no afterschool activities
- Lakeland: no after-school activities
- Ossining: no after-school or evening activities
- Peekskill: No after school activities
- Pelham: all after school activities at the Pelham Union Free School District have been cancelled today, Monday, Jan. 23, 2017. This includes all athletics and evening programs. Dismissal will occur as normally scheduled.
- Pleasantville: no after-school activities
- Tarrytowns: no after-school activities
- Yorktown: no after-school activities
There will be no evening activities at Putnam/Northern Westchester BOCES.
Also, today’s ceremony honoring the state championship boys soccer and football teams from Somers High School has been postponed. The teams will meet with Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino in the very near future.
