Peekskill Cop Accused Of Sex Abuse In Larceny Case

He is under arrest.

PEEKSKILL, NY — An officer in the Peekskill Police Department is accused of stalking, sex abuse and burglary while on duty. Police Officer Michael Agovino has been arrested and charged with several crimes alleged to have occurred while he was on duty, department officials said on Facebook.

"The City of Peekskill Police Department is fully cooperating with the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office's investigation into these allegations. Officer Agovino has been placed on Administrative Leave until further notice."

His accuser told News12Westchester that she had recorded an encounter with the 33-year-old. She alleged that he had demanded sexual favors, assaulted her twice, and stopped by her home unannounced. News12 said Agovino contacted the victim because she was accused in a larceny case he was investigating.

He was arraigned in Peekskill City Court Saturday and sent to the Westchester County Jail on $100,000 bond.
