Boys hoop playoffs

Walter Panas hosted Harrison in a Section 1 Class A out-bracket playoff game Feb. 15, falling to the Huskies 50-48.

Harrison got off to a 17-4 lead and Panas valiantly fought back but just couldn't get ahead of the visitors.

Zac Preuss led Panas with 22 points.

Hendrick Hudson also competed in the outbracket round Feb. 15, losing to host Poughkeepsie 68-44.

Girls playoff hoops

Hendrick Hudson played a thriller against visiting Nanuet in a Class A outbracket game Feb. 15, losing to the Golden Knights 44-41 on a 3-pointer with 2.3 seconds left in the game.

Meaghan Lynch led the Sailors with 12 points.

Panas traveled to Beacon for its outbracket game Feb. 15, losing 53-37.

Christine Myers tallied a team-high 11 points for the Panthers.

Rebels in playoffs

No. 14 Lakeland/Panas will compete in the opening round of the Division 1 ice-hockey playoffs when it travels to No. 3 New Rochelle for a faceoff at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 19.
