Peekskill CSD Hosts 2nd Annual Special Olympics Time Track Trials
The Peekskill City School District hosted the 2nd Annual Special Olympics Time Track Trial event on Saturday, April 22 at Torpey Field.
The Peekskill City School District hosted the 2nd Annual Special Olympics Time Track Trial event on Saturday, April 22 at Torpey Field. The event welcomed over 550 athletes from across the Hudson Valley and was made possible thanks to the help of over 200 community volunteers and several sponsors. Athletes trained for several months in preparation for the event and their hard work showed. For the first time, Peekskill had a team that participated in the event. The team consisted of ten athletes who were coached by six volunteer PCSD employees.
“Our team did amazing the day of the event,” said Cami Blazejewski, a PCSD employee who helped organize the event. “They all worked really hard and tried their best. I’m extremely proud of our athletes and thankful to everyone who made this day successful.”
