Peekskill High School Graduates 170 Students

Congratulations to the 170 Peekskill High School graduates who accepted their diplomas in front of family and friends at the Paramount Theater in Peekskill on June 26, 2016.

Ninety-five per cent of Peekskill's Class of 2016 will be heading off to college, vocational school or the armed forces after graduation. College acceptances include, but are not limited to: Fairleigh Dickinson University, Hofstra University, Marist College, New York Institute of Technology, PACE University, as well as multiple SUNY, CUNY and community colleges, to name a few.

Speakers at the event included, Peekskill Mayor Frank Catalina, Peekskill Board of Education President Colin Smith, PHS Principal Dr. Cassandra Hyacinthe and Peekskill Superintendent Dr. David Fine.

At the ceremony, Superintendent Dr. David Fine spoke to the Class of 2016, commending them on their efforts and wishing them the best in their future years.

“Your job moving forward is to shine,” Dr. Fine said.

Fine then added a few reminders for the graduates to take note of, before once again congratulating them on their successes in high school.

“Practice what you have learned,” Dr. Fine said. “Be real, stand tall, represent us, share your dreams, remain selfless, stay strong, say thank you, hold doors for people, give back to your community and continue to smile,” Fine said. “Our doors are always open. We love you and are so proud of you. Keep up the good work and well done everyone.”
