Peekskill Man Charged with Felony Drug Sales

A Peekskill man was arrested on felony drug charges this week following a three-month investigation into heroin sales by narcotics officers from police departments in Westchester and Putnam counties.

Edward Reeves, 41, of Hudson Avenue was taken into custody at 11:25 a.m. Tuesday on Main Street in Peekskill. He was charged with one count of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 2nd Degree, two counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree and three counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, felonies.

The investigation was conducted by a task force of officers from the Westchester County Police Narcotics Unit, the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department and the Peekskill, Yorktown and Croton-on-Hudson police departments. The investigation is part of the ongoing work of the multi-agency Northern Narcotics Initiative to combat the distribution and sale of heroin in northern Westchester.

Reeves is accused of selling heroin on three occasions to an undercover officer from the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department, including one sale of a half-ounce of heroin for $2,600. Two sales occurred in Peekskill and one in Cortlandt.

Reeves is currently on parole for a previous drug-sales conviction.

He was arraigned Tuesday in Peekskill City Court and Cortlandt Town Court. He is being held without bail at the Westchester County Jail in Valhalla.
