Peekskill Man Told False Story of Knife Attack at the Rock Cut Deli
He lied about a robbery at work, police allege.

On Oct. 14 at 11:40 a.m., New York State Police charged 28-year-old Sergio D. Hernandez-Garcia of Peekskill, with Making a Punishable False Written Statement, and Falsely Reporting an Incident 3rd Degree, both Class A Misdemeanors.
Troopers were dispatched to the Hudson Valley Hospital to investigate a alleged stabbing that occurred during the course of a robbery. Hernandez-Garcia, an employee of the Rock Cut Deli, told police that while he was closing the store for the evening, he was attacked by a man with a knife.
Subsequent investigation revealed that Hernandez-Garcia falsely reported the incident after he had stabbed himself.
Hernandez-Garcia was arraigned before the Town of Cortlandt Court and sent to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail.
