Peekskill Opens Warming Center

If you or a neighbor needs it--temperatures will be frigid over the weekend.

In light of the frigid temperatures over the next several days, the City of Peekskill will open a warming center at the Peekskill Seniors Room lower level in the Peekskill Neighborhood Center at 4 Nelson Ave.

It will be open until 8pm today, Feb. 13, through Monday night.

The National Weather Service says if you must venture outdoors, make sure you wear a hat and gloves, because the very cold air and strong winds are combining to generate low wind chills that could result in frostbite and lead to hypothermia.
