Peekskill Pupils Hold Naming Contest For Newest Officer
The choice commemorates one of Peekskill's heroes.

UPDATE: A name has been chosen!
PEEKSKILL, NY — The newest officer in the Peekskill Police Department is waiting on a name. That's because there's a contest going on! His handler is Officer Anthony Nappi.
Chief Eric Johansen asked everyone else for patience until the naming contest at the elementary and middle schools is done. That didn't stop folks on Facebook and Twitter from making suggestions, including "Wasner" to commemorate former officers Charles Wassil and Michael Neuner.

Johansen also issued a tongue-in-cheek challenge to Ossining Police Chief Kevin Sylvester: "@OssiningPDChief meet our newest officer who happens to be the first one to sign up for no shave November Contest, he'll be tough to beat."
