Peekskill School Budget Results Are In

PEEKSKILL, NY — Peekskill residents approved a 2019-20 school budget on Tuesday.

The $96.7 million proposed budget is a 3.98 spending increase over the current year and it comes with a 2% hike in the school tax levy. That is within the state's tax cap for the district so the budget only needed to be approved by a majority vote.

School board trustees Michael Simpkins, Maria Pereira, and Jillian Villion ran unopposed.

• Yes: 351 (79%)
• No: 94 (21%)

Board of Education:

• Michael Simpkins - 361 (ELECTED)
• Maria Pereira - 365 (ELECTED)
• Jillian Villion - 322 (ELECTED)
• Write-in Votes: 30
