Peekskill Students Celebrate Black History Month

The Peekskill High School and Middle School attended the play 'I Have A Dream' at Paramount Hudson Valley Theater.

From Paramount Hudson Valley Theater: The Peekskill High School and Middle School attended I Have A Dream, a play chronicling the life and times of Martin Luther King as part of a Black History Month celebration. Key events and historical figures were portrayed on stage culminating in King's iconic speech. Close to two thousand students from the two schools were in attendance on February 6th.

The students had a chance to engage with the actors post performance to ask questions about King, acting and peaceful protest. Paramount Hudson Valley Arts presented the play with the help of a grant from Entergy and other generous donors. Paramount Hudson Valley Arts is partnering with the Peekskill schools to ensure students have access to the performing arts.
