PHS Students Visit United Nations in NYC to Talk Peace
Peekskill High School students traveled to the United Nations in Manhattan to participate in the International Day of Peace presentation.

On September 16, a group of Peekskill High School students traveled to the United Nations in Manhattan to participate in the International Day of Peace presentation. Prior to the trip, students created projects describing one of the U.N.'s sustainable development programs. While at the U.N., PHS students were fortunate to hear thought provoking speeches by celebrities, Nobel Peace Laureates, and student presenters who each spoke about how creating a sustainable environment can lead to lasting peace.
"The experience has excited our students and we hope to participate as presenters next year," said Christen McDonnell, a PHS Social Studies teacher who accompanied students on the trip.
