PKMS' 2nd Annual Men's Night Breeds Bonding

Over 50 Peekskill Middle School students and the special men in their lives recently turned out for the school's second Annual Men's Night.

Over 50 Peekskill Middle School students and the special men in their lives recently turned out for the school’s second Annual Men’s Night, which was put together by PKMS Health Teacher Andrew Kane and the help of other volunteers as well.

The evening was spent focusing on strengthening the male relationships in students’ lives by inviting dads, grandpas, uncles, brothers, teachers and friends to participate in bonding activities such as arts and crafts, physical games, brain teasers and intimate discussions. Students and their adult counterparts rotated through a number of stations throughout the night before finally meeting in the cafeteria for refreshments.

As a thank you for participating in the event, at the end of the evening each student was presented with their own copy of “Fitting In, Standing Out,” a problem solving board game geared toward middle school aged players.

“I’m really proud of the work we’ve done here and how supportive the community is of this night,” said PKMS Principal Jamal Lewis. “We wanted tonight to positively impact young lives and I believe it did.”
