PKMS Mandala Mural Project to be Displayed at HVCCA; Middle School

Peekskill Middle School eighth graders in Ms. Brown’s accelerated ceramics class and Mrs. Roldan’s accelerated studio art class had the opportunity to work with local artist, Joe Pimentel during the week of April 24. Thanks to the Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art's Artist in Residency program, Pimentel was able to join the students, and together, the group created a mural of mandalas that will be included in an upcoming show at HVCCA from September 16 -October 1, 2017, before being permanently installed on the second floor of the middle school.

“The students were able to leave their mark on the middle school as they collaboratively created a work of art that will be enjoyed by the incoming students for years to come,” noted Ms. Brown. "Special thanks to HVCCA and Mr. Pimentel for offering our students this amazing opportunity."
