Police Blotter for Peekskill and Cortlandt

Arrest reports from Jan. 3 to Jan. 14 in the city of Peekskill and the Town of Cortlandt.

Driving High:

On Jan. 14 at 10:45 p.m. Daniel Brown, 22, was arrested on East Main St., Cortlandt, for unlawful possession of marijuana and driving while ability impaired by drugs. The arresting officer stopped a gray Honda Accord with an extinguished headlamp. During the traffic stop the officer smelled and then saw marijuana and determined Brown to be under the influence of the drug. He was issued an appearance ticket for Cortlandt court on Jan. 24 at 9 a.m.

Stolen Money Order:

On Jan. 11, Peekskill resident Patricia Dixon, 55, was charged with criminal possession of stolen property for stealing a money order and cashing it. Officer Todd Gallaher led the investigation into the theft of the money order, which happened on Jan. 4. Dixon was arraigned in Peekskill City court. Bail information is unavailable.

Violating Order of Protection:

On Jan. 4, Angel Sacasari, a 44-year-old resident of Peekskill, was charged with criminal contempt in the second degree, for violating the provisions of an order of protection in that he failed to stay away from the protected person. He was held for arraignment in Peekskill City Court without bail.

Assault:

On Jan. 3, Peekskill resident Juan Carlos Espinoza, 25, was arrested for third degree assault, a misdemeanor, on Constant Ave. Officer Fabian Gonzalez recognized Espinoza as being wanted for an assault that occurred the previous day on Nelson Ave. in which he struck his ex-girlfriend's current boyfriend several times in the face. Espinoza was held for arraignment in Peekskill City Court without bail.
