Police Nab Armed Robbery Suspect After Clerk Triggers Panic Alarm
The worker was unsure if the suspect had fled the scene, or was still inside, and believed that the robber may have had access to a gun.

PEEKSKILL, NY — There was excitement on Main Street in Peekskill as law enforcement converged on the scene of an armed robbery in progress.
On Wednesday, shortly after 8:30 p.m., Peekskill police officers responded to a panic alarm activation at a store on Main Street. The store clerk told cops that a man armed with a knife, had just robbed the store.
The store clerk was unsure if the suspect had fled the scene, or was still inside of the store, and believed that the robber may have had access to a firearm as well. Peekskill police officers established a perimeter, and with the help of the Westchester County Police Special Response Team, the store was cleared.

The Peekskill Police Department Detective Division quickly identified the suspect, who was apprehended a short time later. The suspect, identified as 37-year-old Peekskill resident Pedro Cabral, remains in custody, awaiting arraignment before the City of Peekskill court later on Thursday, according to officials.
The investigation is being led by the Peekskill Police Department.
