Police Say Drunk Mohegan Teen Killed Cold Spring Woman on Route 9

A fatal accident on Route 9 May 10 near the Putnam County border took the life of a 65-year-old Cold Spring woman, according to lohud.com.

Richard M. Wright, 19, of Mohegan Lake, was charged with second-degree vehicular manslaughter, two counts of vehicular assault, felonies, and misdemeanor driving while intoxicated, Fishkill police told The Journal News.

Helen and Miguel Santos were going north on Route 9 at 7:30 a.m. when Wright hit them head-on. She died of injuries. He was taken to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla.
