Police Say Montrose Man Assaulted State Cops Responding to Fight
Because he has 4 prior felony convictions the judge sent him to jail without bail.

State police were called to a fight in progress out in the parking lot of the Post Road Deli, at 5:35 p.m. Aug. 30.
The deli is located at 2119 Albany Post Road in Cortlandt.
Their investigation revealed that Carlos J. Rosario, 48, of Montrose, had just been involved in a fight with another subject and had hit him in the head and face with a piece of wood in addition to menacing him with a knife.

When one state trooper attempted to interview him, Rosario became belligerent and threatened to fight the trooper and subsequently assaulted two troopers by kicking and punching them, police said.
After being pepper sprayed, Rosario continued to resist arrest and eventually had to be tased to be taken into custody without further incident.

Both troopers were treated and released at Hudson Valley Hospital for a contusion to the head for one and a contusion to the arm for the other.
Both Rosario and the alleged assault victim were transported to Westchester Medical Center. Police said Rosario was treated and released for a laceration to his left temple he suffered from original fight with the victim and the victim was treated for a broken nose and received several stitches to his head behind his ear.
Rosario was charged with three counts of Assault-2nd (felonies), two counts of Criminal Possession of A Weapon-4th, one count of Obstruction of Governmental Adminisration and one count of Resisting Arrest. He was arraigned in Cortlandt Justice Court by Judge McCarthy and sent to the Westchester County without bail due to his four prior felony convictions.
He is scheduled to reappear in the Town Of Cortlandt Court on Sept. 14 at 9 a.m.
