Screwdriver, Knife Threats In Cortlandt Domestic Dispute: Cops

State police allege both people involved were intoxicated.

CORTLANDT, NY — A Cortlandt man faces weapons related charges in town court after a domestic dispute. State police allege he threatened someone with both a screwdriver and a knife.

On Tuesday, troopers responded to Arlington Court in Cortlandt for a domestic dispute involving a knife. Upon arrival to the scene they said they found both parties involved intoxicated and suffering from minor wounds.

Douglas L. Hovasapian, 45, was charged with Menacing with a Weapon in the 2nd Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 4th Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor.

Hovasapian was arraigned before the Village of Croton on Hudson Justice Court and was released by the court on his own recognizance pending a court appearance at the Town of Cortlandt Justice Court Sept. 21.
