Sean Bugara, Eclectic Irishman and Educator, to Serve as Parade Aide in Buchanan Parade

Meet the Hen Hud teacher who plans to march on March 15

Sean Bugara has been named at Aide for this year’s Buchanan St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

Sean was born in Cleveland to an Irish mother and steel worker father. He moved to Rockaway Beach, a wonderful Irish enclave in Queens, to attend a special high school for Marine Biology, continued at SUNY Cortland, and then served as a health care worker in Paraguay, as a Peace Corps member. He earned his Master’s Degree in Science Education from Columbia University while teaching bilingual high school science in Queens.

Sean and his wife Sandy have two teenage daughters. They moved to Cortlandt Manor so Sean could teach at Blue Mountain Middle School and coach wrestling, track and field, cross country, and tennis. He is one of the founding fathers of the new Cortlandt Community Rowing Association in Verplanck, and a Nationally Board Certified teacher.
