Sen. Ball, Hudson Valley Hospital Center Host Senior Health Fair This Month

The event takes place Friday, April 26 at the Muriel Morabito Community Center in Cortlandt Manor.

Spring is here. What better time to get in shape and pay attention to your health?

Hudson Valley Hospital Center and NYS Senator Greg Ball are offering seniors the perfect opportunity to take care of their health with a “Spring Check Up” Senior Health Fair on Friday, April 26 at the Muriel Morabito Community Center, 29 Westbrook Drive in Cortlandt Manor.

From 9 a.m. -12 noon, health professionals will do blood sugar and blood pressure screenings and exhibitors will be on hand to offer health and consumer information. Refreshments will be served.

“As a community hospital, we are as committed to preventing illnesses as we are to treating them,’’ said John Federspiel, President of Hudson Valley Hospital Center. “The Fair will provide a place for seniors to get free health screenings and information and to speak with doctors and other health practitioners in one location close to home. We are proud to provide this community resource.”                                                                                                             

In addition to Hospital departments offering screenings, among the exhibitors expected are the Westchester County Departments of Senior Programs and Services, Transportation and Consumer Protection, The Visiting Nurse Service of Hudson Valley; The Visiting Nurse Service of Westchester; Westchester Legal Services and many more.
