Sexual Abuse Of Unconscious 20-Year-Old Woman Earns Steep Prison Sentence For Peekskill Man
"This experience took away my sense of safety, peace and trust," the victim told the court in a heartbreaking impact statement.
PEEKSKILL, NY — A Westchester man who sexually assaulted an unconscious woman will pay a steep price for his crime.
Westchester County District Attorney Susan Cacace announced on Thursday that 57-year-old Lucio Lituma Uyaguari, of Peekskill, was sentenced on Wednesday to seven years in prison, which is the maximum allowed, after being convicted last month of felony first-degree sexual abuse. In addition, Uyaguari will have a 10-year post-release supervision term and will be required to register as a sex offender when released from prison.
"I am grateful for the swift apprehension and the diligent prosecution of this predator," Cacace said. "Crimes of this nature will not be tolerated and will always be met with the full force of the powers vested in the DA’s office. I hope this conviction and sentencing will offer closure to the victim."
