Spectra Seeks May 4 OK to Build Pipeline Staging Areas in Montrose, Pomona

The AIM Project was approved March 3; now the natural-gas company wants to begin implementing its expansion plans.

Spectra Energy submitted its Supplemental Implementation Plan to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission yesterday and asked for permission to begin construction activities in Montrose and Pomona.

  • Hudson West Yard - Mt. Ivy 395 Route 202, Ponoma, NY
  • Hudson East Yard - 2071 Albany Post Road (Rt. 9A), Montrose, NY

The yards, or construction staging areas, will be used among other things for the Algonquin Pipeline expansion under the Hudson River.

in accordance with Environmental Condition 8 of Appendix B of the March 3 Order, Algonquin hereby requests that the Director of the OEP issue a Notice to Proceed with construction activities at the following locations. Algonquin is requesting this approval by May 4, 2015

The Hudson River work is part of Spectra’s AIM project—the first of three projects, each expanding parts of Spectra’s existing pipeline through New York into New England to shipping terminals.
