State Moves Location of 1st Hearing on Gas Pipeline's Compression, Monitoring Stations

As part of the Algonquin pipeline expansion project, Spectra seeks permits for stations in Southeast, Cortlandt, Peekskill and Stony Point.

The location of the Jan. 21 hearing on the Algonquin Incremental Market Project has been changed from the Brewster Central School Performing Arts Center Auditorium on Foggintown Road to the Henry H. Wells Middle School Auditorium located at 570 Route 312, Brewster, NY.

There is no change to the Jan. 22 hearing.

Spectra Energy needs permits from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation to expand its natural-gas compressor stations in Southeast and Stony Point and modify its Peekskill, Cortlandt and Stony Point metering stations.

Two new compressor units are planned for Algonquin’s existing Stony Point Compressor Station and one new compressor unit is planned at Algonquin’s existing Southeast Compressor Station.

Modifications are also proposed to Algonquin’s existing Stony Point, Peekskill and Cortlandt Meter and Regulating (“M&R”) stations involving new piping, heaters and regulators and the installation of various piping, valves, and internal inspection device referred to as launchers and receivers.
