Storm Front Ushering In Cool Work Week: Northern Westchester Weather
Get the details on the work week for Cortlandt and Peekskill.

CORTLANDT, NY — Cool temps this week in northern Westchester. According to AccuWeather.com, blustery conditions Monday evening will accompany the wave of cooler air, with winds gusting past 30 mph at times. There are severe thunderstorms predicted for central and northern New York.
The likelihood of severe weather in the Hudson Valley is much less, meteorologists said.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo warned New Yorkers Monday to take precautions as severe weather moves into the western portions of the state and travels east. In the afternoon and evening, rain and thunderstorms will develop and some of these storms would have the potential to reach severe levels, bringing hail very strong winds that could take down power lines and tree limbs. There is a slight chance of isolated tornados and quarter size hail as the storms move through the state.

"For example, there is a 15% to 30% chance of damaging winds occurring within 25 miles of Newburgh. That may seem like a small chance of it happening, but with severe weather, that’s a risk worth paying attention to," said Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather.
It's the start to what looks like a cool spring work week.

"Further cooling will take place at midweek to the mid-Atlantic and New England coasts," said AccuWeather meteorologist Renee Duff. "Umbrellas and rain jackets will be needed into late week, as a storm rides up the Eastern Seaboard and delivers a thorough soaking on Thursday and Friday."
