Student Created Art Pieces to be Displayed at HVCCA Art Show

There will be a Student Exhibition Opening Reception at HVCCA on June 9 from 6-8 p.m. This exhibition includes works done by Peekskill High School students who have been working with HVCCA’s In-School Artists Residents, as well as works by students from the organizations’ Young Docents Program. Also, pieces from the Hudson Valley youth who participated in the "I'm Tired" Project from Yonkers, Newburgh, Beacon, Peekskill and Mount Vernon will be available for viewing. Additionally, the museum will showcase the student created piece, “Esperanza” from the Live Arts Fest which took place earlier this year.

The large murals created by Peekskill students will be on display at the museum for at least a month and will then be delivered to Peekskill Middle School where they will go on display in the auditorium in time for the first day of the 2016-2017 school year. From there, they will find their permanent home at Peekskill High School in the fall.
