Student Winners Announced in Annual Fire Poster Contest

The overall winner of the contest and the recipient of the Pete Volkman Award was Patrick Brunner of Oakside Elementary.

The Peekskill Firefighters Association Local 2343 recently announced the winners of their Annual Fire Poster Contest and our talented students in grades K - 5 were among the honorees! The overall winner of the contest and the recipient of the Pete Volkman Award was Patrick Brunner of Ms. Castro’s third grade class. All awardees received a $50 gift card from the fire department as their prize with the exception of Brunner, who was awarded a $100 gift card.

“It feels really good to win,” said Brunner, who plans to use his prize money to buy toys for himself and his brother and sister.
