Taconic Construction Overnight Dec. 14-16

On one night, the northbound lanes will be closed around Peekskill Hollow Road, and the next night all the southbound lanes will be closed.

Motorists are advised that overnight closures are expected for a portion of the Taconic State Parkway in the towns of Carmel and Putnam Valley, Putnam County, so crews can perform construction activities.

All work is weather permitting and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather.

All northbound lanes along with the left lane of the southbound side of the Taconic State Parkway between Peekskill Hollow Road and Pudding Street are expected to be closed beginning Monday, December 14, at 9 p.m. and ending on Tuesday, December 15, at 6 a.m.

All southbound lanes along with the left lane of the northbound side of the Taconic State Parkway between Pudding Street and Peekskill Hollow Road are expected to be closed beginning Tuesday, December 15, at 9 p.m. and ending on Wednesday, December 16, at 6 a.m.

A posted detour will be in place and motorists are advised to follow it, but anticipate delays.

Drivers are asked to use caution when traveling through the work zone area and pay particular attention to all traffic control devices, including signs and flaggers.

Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
