Ten Blue Mountain Students Selected For Syracuse University's Northern Westchester Middle School Honor Band
Concert is Saturday at 2 p.m.
Ten Blue Mountain Middle School students have been selected to perform with the 2014 Northern Westchester Middle School Honor Band this weekend.
The concert, which will take place at 2 p.m. on October 11th at North Salem High School and is sponsored by Syracuse University, will be co-directed by Dr. Bradley Ethington, Director of Bands at SU, and Steve Austin, North Salem band director.
The young musicians were selected based on the scores of their NYSSMA evaluations and their outstanding work in the BMMS band program. They are: Larisa Bushkin and Yashaswee Rijal, flutes, Julian Yu, oboe, Alex Parker, bassoon, Katie Mahoney, Antara Jackson, and Josh Anderson, clarinets, Kenneth Rossi and Cailee Tisinger, alto saxes, and Joseph Fareed, trumpet. Amy Richter and Joseph Stamboni are their teachers at Blue Mountain.
