They say you do not realize what you have until it is all gone. On November 24 2013 we witnessed our family friends home burn to the ground . The fire is something that will stand out in my memory forever , fire is unforgivable .
The story that follows is remarkable , the daughter was awoken by their dog with a howl they had never heard before . The mother who was resting following surgery was awoken by doors slamming and made her way to a bathroom window on the second floor , how she got there we will leave it up to you . The neighbor and a person driving by saw the flames and sprang into action and got her down from upstairs by placing a ladder outside the window . What followed after that words cannot describe at least 8 fire departments arrived to help control the blaze , but the home was gone within twenty minutes .
Three of their four dogs had passed but were found untouched by the fire each with an angel pin next to them . The dog that saved them to date has not been found . There have been sightings of him near the area .
The most remarkable out of all this is all the support family, and a small town gives . I have to admit you sometimes wonder where all the good people are , they are still there . And they still give from the heart . It has been a week of reflection for most . You know the saying "you think you got problems" , now stop and reflect someone may be worse off. Family and friends make you wealthy .
