Thousands of Brand Name Children’s Items on Sale at Claire’s Consignments

Don't miss the huge consignment sale at the Columbian Hose Firehouse in Peekskill this Saturday.

Claire’s Consignments this weekend brings brand name items to shoppers for significantly discounted prices and helps local charities.  The event, to take place form 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the  (47 Dayton Lane, Peekskill) will offer more than 8,000 children’s items for people to browse and buy. Many of the consigners decide to donate what is not sold to local charities. Bee Green is holding another consignment in Ardsley on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Life The Place To Be.

Shoppers will have the opportunity to browse thousands of new and gently used items including clothing, toys, games, baby gear, furniture, sports equipment, dance apparel and much more.   The sales organize their inventory so that it’s just like a store.  Clothing is hung and sized to make finding what you need easy.

The way consignment sales work are consignors register online paying a small registration fee (usually $5-10), then they log all of their items into a database, choosing what to price, whether to discount the item if it doesn’t sell by discount sale and if they want to donate the item if it doesn’t sell. The database generates a barcoded price tag and then the consignors prepare their items (hanging and tagging), and drop off to the sale on the designated drop off day.  Consignors earn a base percentage (varies depending on sale) and can earn more by volunteering to work at the sale.  Volunteers and Consignors also get the benefit of shopping the sale first at what is called a preview sale.  Both Claire’s Consignments and the Bee Green Sale also have a time during the preview sale for registered expecting and new moms to come in and shop.  Registration for the preview sale takes place online and is limited for that event.

Many not familiar with consignment sales worry when they hear about the preview sale that there won’t be any good deals left for the public sale, but the inventory is still plentiful when the doors open to the public and great deals abound!

Both sales will open to the public this Saturday, March 24th, Claire’s Consignments at 8am and Be Green at 9am.  Plus both of these sales hold half off sales where during a designated day or time any items left that are marked accordingly will be discounted 50% during that time.

Claire’s Consignments holds their half off sale Sunday 8am – 1:30pm and Be Green holds theirs Sunday, from 10am-1pm.

Consignment Sale Events are a great way to get quality, name brand things for your kids without paying high retail prices.  It also is a great way to go green by re-using and helping local charities.  Many of the consignors from these sales choose to donate their items that don’t sell.  The sales then organize distribution to local charities that need children’s items.  So come and check out a new, affordable shopping experience.  You won’t be disappointed.  For more information on these sales check out clairesconsignments.com and begreensale.com

Columbian Hose Firehouse is located in the rear of the Beach Shopping Center, off Dayton Lane, with entrances from both Routes 6 and 202.
