Congratulations to Roxy Arecco and Greg Carey, two Hendrick Hudson High School students who are very active in the Starboard Stars Drama Club, and were leading players in this year’s very successful production of Seussical, the Musical. Both were nominated for the fifth annual Gershwin Awards!

The Gershwin Awards, held this year at the Chelsea Studios on Saturday, May 30, is the New York Metro Region Chapter of the National High School Musical Theater Awards, a national celebration of excellence in student performance and theater arts education.

The Gershwin Awards audition students from many schools located throughout the five boroughs, Long Island and Westchester. This event included a group rehearsal and ensemble performance, private coaching, and a showcase of individual solos of a song each student performed in his/her musical. Roxy and Greg were selected to represent Hen Hud in this competition based on the quality of their performances in their leading roles in Seussical.
