Using Stolen Credit Cards In Cortlandt

A Putnam Valley woman is accused.

CORTLANDT, NY – A Putnam Valley woman is accused of identity theft in Cortlandt.

On Jan. 23, troopers received a complaint of possible identity theft in the town of Cortlandt. After investigation, police allege that Rebecca P. Simmons made multiple purchases with a stolen credit card.

On Feb. 8, the New York State Police from the Cortlandt barracks arrested Simmons, 33, for Forgery in the 2nd degree, a class D felony, Identity Theft in the 2nd degree, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 4th degree, both class E felonies, and Identity Theft in the 3rd degree, a class A misdemeanor.

Simmons was arraigned before the town of Cortlandt Court and released on her own recognizance.
