Van Cortlandtville Boy Scouts honored at St. Patrick’s Cathedral

by Troop 45

Three Boy Scouts from Troop 45 Van Cortlandtville were honored with the Ad Altare Dei religious emblem at St. Patrick’s Cathedral on Sunday, May 4. Pictured are Vincent Ribeiro, Life Scout; Eric Quarato, 1st Class Scout; and Christian Pitaccio, Life Scout.

The boys worked towards the religious emblem award for several months with their counselors, and they also attended a religious retreat.

The Boy Scouts of America offers religious emblems for various religious groups, in hope that the Scout grows stronger in their personal faith, and moral character.
