Visiting Hours are Aug. 8 for Anthony Tonich

Anthony “Teenie” Tonich of Verplanck, NY, passed away with his family by his side on Tuesday, August 05, 2014. He was 80 years old.

Anthony was born on January 23, 1934 to the late Michael and Mary (Babich) Tonich in Peekskill, NY.

He attended Hendrick Hudson High School then joined the United States Marine Corps and served during the Korean War.

Anthony was very active in the community; he was a parishioner of St. Patrick’s Church in Verplanck, lifetime member of the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Society, lifetime member of the Verplanck Fire Department and member of the B.P.O.E. #744 in Peekskill. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to many and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his beloved wife Dorothy; loving children, Anthony D. and Robin Ann Neumann; adoring grandchildren, ToniAnn, Gianna Marie, Marissa Yolanda, Anthony Charles, Matthew David and Michael Peter. He was predeceased by his son Michael Anthony on May 7, 2003. He was also predeceased by 5 sisters and 1 brother.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August, 8, 2014 from 6-9pm at the EDWARD F. CARTER FUNERAL HOME, 170 Kings Ferry Rd., Montrose, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Church in Verplanck. Prayers of Interment will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery also in Verplanck.
