
Donald C. Clark II (82) 40+ year resident of Verplanck, NY passed away on August 18 after battling lengthy illnesses.
Tenacious, Don was born in Ithaca, NY and raised by his grandmother, Martha. Athletic, Don loved sports and was co-captain of his high school’s football team as well as its basketball team that won its first ever Sectional and District Championship.
Patriotic, Don proudly served four years in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict.

Blessed professionally, Don parlayed his Ithaca College degree and love of sports into a 25+ year career teaching Physical Education to countless Ossining children mainly at Claremont Elementary.
Competitive, Don’s various football and girl’s softball teams enjoyed numerous winning seasons.

Loved, Don is survived by two sons - Donald III (“DC”) of Castaic, CA and Michael (Kelley) of Sharon Center, OH; his six grandchildren Michael and Melanie (children of DC) and Ryan, Bailey, Abigail and Bennett (children of Michael & Kelley), and the eventual light of his life, Susan (formerly Savino) his wife of 37+ years who was also a Claremont teacher.
Friends are invited to call on Saturday September 6 from 9 – 11AM at Leach & Thomas, Inc. 32 State Street, Ossining, NY. A burial with Military Honors will be held after the visitation at the Gate of Heaven cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions in his memory may be made to: Ithaca Youth Bureau, 1 James L.
