Walter Panas Girls Tennis Undefeated for First Time in History
Mya Lipscomb to compete in sectionals on Oct. 21

The Walter Panas High School Girls’ Tennis Team finished their regular season undefeated for the first time in team history. With a record of 15-0. “The team’s success can be attributed to depth and unity on the squad. Everyone believed in each other and supported one another. Each member of the team contributed at least one victory this season,” says Coach Santa Trawick. “We had a strong squad going into the season and then we received a sophomore singles player -- Mya Lipscomb -- who jumped into the number one slot, strengthening all the other positions on the team. Mya has earned the 5th slot in our Conference I tournament, and she will be playing the #1 seed in the Sectionals today in Harrison.”
“I’m so fortunate to have experienced this with a group of such amazing and supportive friends. We all knew at the start of the season it was going to be a great one, what we didn’t expect though was to make history twice!,” said junior Julie Duffy. “I’m so proud of my team and myself for what we accomplished! We would be nowhere without each other, and that’s a fact!”
