Winter Parking Rules Now in Effect: Peekskill Police

The city activated its winter parking regulations Sunday afternoon.

PEEKSKILL, NY — Due to the overnight snow, sleet and rain, Peekskill officials have put the winter parking regulations into effect.

Those rules prohibit parking on most city streets from midnight to 8 a.m. There is some alternate side of the street parking, in designated areas, allowing parking between 8 p.m. and 8 a.m. Follow the designated signs so that plows can clear streets when needed.

Vehicles in violation of the rules may be issued a parking ticket — and fines start at $50. Cars could also be towed at the owner's expense.
