Woman Accused Of False, Malicious Shooting 911 Call

It was during a domestic dispute, police said.

CORTLANDT, NY — Police swarmed Lexington Avenue Feb. 1 at 11:13 p.m. after a woman called to say she was being held hostage and shot at during a domestic dispute. State Police, Westchester Police Department, and Yorktown Police Department including K9 units, who all responded to the emergency call, found no evidence of any shots fired in the area.

Now a Cortlandt woman faces a misdemeanor charge of falsely reporting an incident.

The caller, later identified as Latascha N. Kelly, had left the scene, and told investigators when contacted by telephone that she no longer wanted assistance. Further investigation found Kelly engaged in a domestic dispute, and then falsely reported the incident to Westchester County 911 in an attempt to incriminate the victim.
