BETHPAGE, NY — A Bethpage senior has earned first place from the New York State Science Honor Society.
Jessica Wojnicki secured the top mark and a scholarship after being recognized for her academic performance in the sciences and promoting STEM to young learners.
The NYSSHS was founded in 1991, and to be recognized by the society, students have to maintain a high science-specific GPA, complete science-related community service hours, and have a "strong character."
Wojnicki has shown all of the above, including her service and leadership skills.
