PLAINVIEW, NY — The wait is over for Plainview residents – Dom's Famous Chicken Fingers has officially soft-launched, bringing lively crowds with it.
Family-owned Dominick's Italian-American Deli opened its New Hyde Park doors in 1995 and has since expanded to Plainview with a streamlined menu, focused on crispy chicken fingers.
The crispy chicken fingers were served alongside dipping sauces, including a sweet honey mustard and barbecue sauce. The restaurant was bustling with customers, creating an energetic atmosphere reminiscent of a popular fast-casual chain, with families and groups filling the dining area, including plenty of happy kids.
Co-owners Dominick Grosso and son Vincent, along with help from the rest of the family, including Nick Marino, Dom Jr., and Daniella, have been helping run the family business for years.
Marino told Patch that the response to the soft opening has exceeded their expectations.
"We've felt extremely welcomed by the Plainview community, and we're so grateful for all the support from residents who have come out to visit us," he said.
Although the shop hasn't had its grand opening yet, Marino said Long Islanders have turned out in large numbers since the June 12 opening.
"We've appreciated everyone's patience while our team gets accustomed to the demand," Marino said. "We're focused on improving every day and making sure every guest has a great experience."
Dom's Famous Chicken Fingers is located at 1135 Old Country Road in Plainview, next to La Piazza.
