Kennedy High School seniors have been named National Merit Semifinalists, placing them among the top one percent of high school seniors nationwide. These students now move on to compete for prestigious National Merit Scholarships, with winners to be announced next spring, highlighting strong academic achievement in the Plainview-Old Bethpage community.
   

• Filmmaker Wilfred La Salle shines light on autism awareness with Lucy (longislandpress.com) — A Plainview native, actor Morris Napolitano, plays a central father role in Lucy, a new Long Island–shot film that explores autism from parents' perspectives. Filmmaker Wilfred La Salle aims to raise awareness by portraying families' emotional journeys, with a trailer due in November and a full release planned for Autism Awareness Month in April 2027.
