BETHPAGE, NY — Two people have been left without a home for the time being after a Bethpage house fire on Sunday, the Nassau County Fire Marshal's Office said.
Bethpage Fire Department responded to a two-story house on Arthur Ave. after receiving a call at 5:35 p.m., fire marshals said.
The fire, which was on the exterior of the house near the electric meter, was brought under control within 20 minutes with the help of about 75 firefighters, fire marshals said.
No injuries were reported, and the occupants smelled smoke and self-evacuated the house, fire marshals said. Two people have been displaced due to the house not having power, fire marshals said.
According to fire marshals, mutual aid assistance was provided by Farmingdale, South Farmingdale, Hicksville, Syosset, and Levittown, all under the command of Chief Ganshaw.
The NCFM's Office and the NCPD Arson/Bomb Squad are currently investigating the fire, officials said.
