Bethpage High School Wellness Walk Promotes Connection, Resilience

Students, staff, and community members joined together in support of the Sources of Strength program and mental wellness initiatives.

BETHPAGE, NY — Bethpage High School's annual Sources of Strength Wellness Walk brought students, staff, and community members together last week for an afternoon focused on connection, support, and well-being.

Held June 4, the event invited participants to walk the school's track in solidarity with the Sources of Strength program. This program promotes mental wellness by helping young people build resilience, healthy coping skills, and a strong sense of belonging.

The walk served as a fitting way to close out the school year, reinforcing the importance of supporting one another both in and out of the classroom.

The afternoon also featured plenty of fun, including an ice bucket challenge that saw teachers volunteer to be drenched as students cheered them on from the sidelines. The teachers, Chris DeStefano and Ralph Tauriello, were student-chosen.

An ice cream truck was also on hand to help attendees celebrate the occasion with a sweet treat.
